The current viewing mode, Page Layout, is used for positioning frames and fine-tuning your document's formatting.

When you choose Draft mode from the View menu, all graphics are replaced with grayed boxes or wire-framed images, resulting in faster editing and printing.

The final option is Copy Editor - a new innovation designed to speed up simple editing jobs. All formatting and graphics are absent from the screen, allowing you to concentrate on the text.

In the left-hand column are the tag names associated with each paragraph. The size of the column can be adjusted by clicking and dragging the column boundary to the left or right.

To add text to your document, click the cursor anywhere in the text and begin typing. Use the backspace key on your keyboard to delete characters.

Another convenient tool is Corel Ventura's cutting and pasting feature. First, select text with the cursor, then choose the Cut button from the Ribbon bar.

To paste text back into your document, click where you want the text to appear and choose paste.

You can also apply formatting to selected text in Copy Editor. Start by selecting a text string. Then, use the ribbon bar to bold, italicize and underline in an instant. Click the Normal button to undo the formatting.

If you wish to choose from a wider selection of text attributes, open the Text Attributes dialog box. There, you can shift the text upwards, select a kerning value or add color to your text string.
